The New Yorker Festival kicks off today and, through October 10th, will feature its signature mix of conversations, panels, and performances. We are excited to host virtual events that you can enjoy from anywhere, as well as outdoor in-person events in New York City. This is our twenty-second Festival and, for me, one of the best parts of the year. Our writers and editors will hold conversations with some of the most talented and fascinating people of our time—artists, actors, musicians, comedians, government leaders, writers, thinkers, and chefs. This year we look forward to welcoming Billie Eilish, Merrick Garland, Thelma Golden, Jane Goodall, Dave Grohl, Charlayne Hunter-Gault, Letitia James, Jamaica Kincaid, Yiyun Li, Patricia Lockwood, Valeria Luiselli, Aimee Mann, Viet Thanh Nguyen, Emily Ratajkowski, Amy Schumer, Stanley Tucci, Kara Walker, Tara Westover, and many more. Sessions will stream live online and will be available for on-demand viewing through November 10th, which means that you can watch wherever in the world you are, whenever it works with your schedule. If you find yourself in New York City during the Festival, we'll be at Skyline Drive-In in Brooklyn on Friday, October 8th, and Saturday, October 9th, for in-person events, including performances by Dave Grohl and Aimee Mann. We'll also screen Stephen Karam's début film, "The Humans," an adaptation of his Tony Award-winning play of the same name. You can find the full schedule of events on our Web site. I hope that you will join us at this year's Festival, whether virtually or in New York City. If you have questions, or need assistance when purchasing tickets, please e-mail New Yorker Customer Care, or call 1-800-444-7570. As ever, David Remnick |
